Fall 2005

It's been almost two years since we started our landscaping project.  We've made quite a few changes and learned a lot in the past 23 months.  We've added a garden shed, a slump stone wall between our yard and the neighbor's to the south, a hot tub and gazebo, planted more trees, and moved some plants around.

8' X 10' Garden shed, assembled from a kit and painted.  Tile roof matches that of the house.

Tree ferns in front of new wall on south side of yard, with shed at rear.

View along back wall looking towards shed and left-hand corner "Angel garden". In the forefront is a Cleveland sage, and a mallow bush immediately to the right.

View along back wall looking towards right-hand corner of the yard from "Angel" garden. Visible are a New Zealand tea tree bush, various sages, a redbud tree, and mallow.

Spa with gazebo.  We planted laurel cherry to act  as a privacy screen around the area.

Note: gazebo cover blew off during winter of 2006 and was replaced with a permanent cover.

Looking along northwest wall towards back of yard.  Rose garden is on the right, with alder tree on the left.

Tabebuia tree (front) and California alder (rear).

Note: this tree was overwatered during the summer and did not make it.  It has been replaced with a Chinese elm.

Looking at northwest corner of yard.  Note new house construction behind our yard.

Pistache tree and spa, under gazebo.

View towards north side of yard, with privet hedge and rose harden.  Red oak tree is in forefront..
